Boarding at the Highland Inn
Whether you’re planning a vacation or handling a family emergency, please consider the “Highland Inn” as your pet’s home away from home. We are proud to offer an outstanding boarding facility right within our hospital. Our amenities include air conditioning, radiant floor heated runs, three daily individual or group supervised play sessions in our fully fenced, secure outdoor exercise yard, as well as music in every room. Canine accommodations include lodging in our indoor suites, runs, or condos. In addition to the above, guests staying in a luxury suite enjoy roomier accommodations with plenty of natural light, only 5 suites per room, elevated water and food bowls and web cam accessibility to allow the rest of the family to take a peek!

The Highland Animal Hospital boarding staff may decline your request for accommodations if they are deemed too small for your pet.
A cozy feline boarding condo
For our feline friends we offer a quiet, peaceful boarding area separate from our canine guests. The majority of our kitty condos have clear Plexiglas backs allowing our guests to overlook either the goings-on of the hospital reception area or the outdoors. Exercise is provided for each individual guest as they spend time enjoying our “kitty jungle gym." Piped in music is provided for their enjoyment.

The Highland Inn provides accommodations for healthy pets. Of course, if your pet is on medication while at the Inn we will gladly administer this. And rest assured that while your pet is in our care, should any problems arise, a doctor would be notified immediately. For your convenience you may schedule a physical examination, vaccinations or a dental cleaning while your pet stays with us. A member of the kennel staff will be happy to arrange this for you. To expedite your pet's registration process please print and fill out the medical history form and present it upon check in. For your pet’s protection, the following vaccines are required for boarding at the Inn:
- Kennel Cough
A negative parasite screen is required for dogs and cats.
Your pet’s vaccines must be current and if not a client of the Highland Animal Hospital, written proof must be provided to our boarding staff on or before your pet’s arrival date. Upon registration, any animal with expired or insufficient vaccines will, at the owner’s expense, be examined by one of our veterinarians and the necessary vaccines given. If our staff is required to call a veterinary clinic to verify vaccines there will be a $10.00 fee for this service.
To allow our kennel staff sufficient time to sanitize your pet’s quarters prior to the arrival of the next guest, checkout time is 1:00pm. All guests picked up after 1:00pm will be charged an additional day’s rate.
Sunday checkout is available if prior arrangements have been with our boarding staff. Please be advised that our front office will be closed and that payment must be made in advance. Pickups are between the hours of 11am and 12pm or 3pm and 4pm only. Remember to ring the bell as the hospital doors will be locked!
Cancelling Your Reservation
Due to the high demand for boarding at the Inn, we must ask that you adhere to our cancellation policy. We require a credit card in order to hold all reservations. If you cancel with at least two weeks notice you will not be charged. If you cancel with less than two weeks notice you will be charged 50% of the original reservation.
For the safety of your pet as well as the safety of our hospital patients and other guests of the Inn, all dogs must be leashed and walked before entering the facility. All cats must arrive in a carrier.
